Bioshock killed my Xbox.....

Why do I keep hearing the Buggles?

John
Sorry to hear that :(
Yeah it sucks. This is the second time.

I've been playing RB and COD4 almost exclusively and decided to play Bioshock today just to mix it up. Bad idea.
Oh great. I just bought an Xbox and have Bioshock sitting on my coffee table. I am scared now.
I hope that wasn't it, but that is the first time I had any type of problem with the unit since it came back from service the last time.

It's a great game, so I really hope that wasn't it.
I'll tell you something. I work for a video game retailer part time, and those 360s have a 60% failure rate out of the box. Microsoft is good about the warranty, but 60% is 60%.
That sucks! I've had no trouble since getting my 360 replaced. I played through BioShock with no trouble and I'm currently on Burnout Paradise (which I'm sure pushes some limits here and there).
Neither have I until now. When it comes back I'm going to play through BioShock.

Scio, they definitely rushed them to the market to beat the PS3 and now they are paying the price. The newer ones are more like 10-15%, but still that's just horrid. They really had no choice about the warranty, because the community quickly realized that these things were failing at a very high rate.
60%? I can't remember from where I heard, but I don't think the failure rate was 60%; more like 16%. I'm thinking it was from the last Buzz Out Loud podcast, or 1upyours.

Ah, found it. Here's the article.

Well put me down for two of those data points. On the same console.
Did they give you back the same console that you had the first time, just "fixed"? I got a new serial number so I assume I got a completely new 360, not just a fix on my old one.
I think I got back the same one.

I'm going to write down the serial # to see if they give me a new one. I would guess with two hardware failures now, they would.
