Star Trek
Hello, Vox. It's been a while. Just haven't had anything to write about really. But I just saw Star Trek at the IMAX theater at Jordan's Furniture in Reading and felt the need to share.
I went on Rotten Tomatoes before seeing it and at that time it had a 97% favorable rating (96% as of right now.) I saw than and figured there is no way the movie could live up to that expectation. Now I think the 4% who didn't like it are like the assclown baseball writers who don't vote for people like Nolan Ryan to make the Hall of Fame on the first ballot solely because no one has ever been unanimously chosen.
If you're telling me that as a movie reviewer you walked out of that theater and said "I didn't like that" or "I wasn't entertained" then I have no further interest in your opinions on any subject, let alone movies.
The casting was spot on. The acting was fantastic. The script and actors paid respect to their predecessors in these rolls without mimicking them. The action was almost non-stop and the breathers always helped fill in background on the plot.
I'd have to say this is the best movie I've seen since Return of The King.
Plus, JJ killed off a redshirt. How fucking cool is that?

That was a lot of fun! The casting was superb. Loads of easter eggs for fanboys and action for everyone. No technobabble to confuse the slow witted... Still, I gotta go see it again.
