Apple's latest retail store opened this week in Boston. It's the biggest one yet and one of my friends wanted to make the Windows/Apple move so we went down and had lunch then got her a new MacBook.
The outside of the store is pretty similar to the others, but I brought the Nikon and took some photos of the cool spiral staircase they have in the center of the store.
Too bad Boston tailed off so badly after their first album.
Always good to bang you head, and Metallica peaked on this album.
I got my first roll back from the new Hi-Matic. I was a bit worried that a camera that old would have light leaks but that's not the case. Apparently it was so lightly used that even that wasn't a concern.
I took a couple of shots in the backyard:
And since Fluffy is a monochromatic cat, I desaturated and cropped one of the bed shots.
normally this would not be worth mentioning, but this one is different. The Hynes Convention Center was hosting a job fair focused on people who are bilingual in English and Japanese. One of my friends in Tokyo (who is a native Bostonian) flew back for this job fair. I hope she was able to see a lot of companies before this dumpster caught fire.
I had a pretty hectic evening yesterday, but all told it was a lot of fun. I had two college friends in town for a convention and the only night they were free was yesterday, but I also had tickets to the ABB show. We solved that problem by meeting at Legal Test Kitchen for dinner, which is close to both the convention center and the venue where the concert was.
I attempted to live blog the show and upload some crappy cell phone video but the Mobile Vox tool on Treo isn't uploading properly (and a query to Six Apart has been made.)
Here is the set list. I was very disappointed to see that on Tuesday they finished the show with Whipping Post, which is my favorite ABB song.
Set 1:
Done Somebody Wrong
Midnight Rider
Dont Keep Me Wondering
Rockin Horse
Desdemona
No One Left To Run With

Encore: One Way Out
1w/ Susan Tedeschi - Guitar & Vocals
Susan Tedeschi came out and sang a few songs, as you can see. She's married to one of the ABB's guitarists, Derek Trucks. Who by the way is one of the most amazing guitarists I've ever seen and he's only in his late 20s.
Hopefully there will be more posts about the show once I get the phone problems fixed.
