They also gave her a shampoo so her paws were a bit wet. This made for funny video.
I got my first roll back from the new Hi-Matic. I was a bit worried that a camera that old would have light leaks but that's not the case. Apparently it was so lightly used that even that wasn't a concern.
I took a couple of shots in the backyard:
And since Fluffy is a monochromatic cat, I desaturated and cropped one of the bed shots.
Cooked Pam a late Valentine's dinner tonight. It was pretty involved, so no food porn. I did two types of salmon. One in a foil pack with butter, capers, lemon and rosemary and the other was cooked on a cedar plank with mustard, dill and capers on top.
While that was cooking I made a risotto with tomato, basil and onions and some grilled asparasus with garlic and lemon.
Good times.
After that Fluffy joined us to watch some TV:
Then she decided to have some dessert of her own....
As for me I'm settling in for some classic John Wayne movies. The Sons of Katie Elder and Who Shot Liberty Valance.
Fluffy loves to be tucked into bed....
Some food porn from the weekend. I traveled up to Cazenovia NY to spend the long weekend with some college friends. We roasted this leg of lamb over charcoal. The lamb is from a farm just down the street from my friend's place. Once he gets a large enough freezer, he'll be getting all his meat from here.
As I went to check my email I noticed this guy about ten feet outside the window.
After a few days of relative peace, hostilities were renewed today.
First off Fluffy wanted me to post this small bit of propoganda. See how cute she is? She wanted everyone to know that she is not the cause of this conflict, but merely a victim.
The big confrontation of the day took place in the kitchen.
Fluffy forgot about her previous PR successes....
And at this point she retreated and conceded defeat....for now.
Pam and I are catsitting for a friend for the next week or so. Since his cat and our cat are older, we figured they'd just get along and leave each other alone.
We figured wrong.
Not long into Yanni's visit they were finally forced to acknowledge each other's presence:
You can't really tell in this picture, but Yanni is part Maine Coon cat and weights about 15 lbs. That's about twice as much as Fluffy does. He's declawed though, and Fluffy is fully armed.
Then Yanni decided to say hello:
Today while Fluffy was sleeping on our bed I gave him full run of the place. He pretty much just walked around sniffing (and not marking. Thank God he's fixed.)
Then Fluffy did the same when I put Yanni in his room and let her walk around.
It will be funny to see how this plays out.
